Plum season is here, and this easy plum sheet cake is the perfect way to enjoy it. Juicy, ripe plums bake into a soft, moist cake that stays delicious for days. With just a handful of pantry staples, you’ll have a dessert that’s simple, fruity, and irresistible - perfect with a dusting of powdered sugar or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
First, melt the butter and allow it to cool slightly. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
In a bowl, mix the melted butter and caster sugar until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the quark.
Measure out all the dry ingredients and add them to the mixture in the bowl. Mix until smooth.
Line a baking tray (I used a 25 x 35 cm tray) with parchment paper. Pour the batter into the pan and smooth the top.
Press the plums into the cake with the cut side facing up. Bake for about 30 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
