Slow cooker white chocolate milk with spices

If you have no slow cooker you can of course make this also on the stove. Heat everything very very slowly and let it simmer for a while. Turn of the gas and let the spices infuse in the liquid for a couple of hours. Turn the heat back on and reheat the chocolate milk. Remove the spices and drink!

This delicious white chocolate milk with spices is made in the slow cooker and is the perfect drink for cold winter months. Would work a miracle on Christmas too!

Slow cooker white chocolate milk

There is something so comforting about chocolate milk. Don’t you agree? I love the stuff and even in summer I am known to order a hot chocolate with whipped cream from time to time. (try this chocolate milk with cute marshmallow puppets!) But I had never before made chocolate milk or white chocolate milk in a slow cooker. And I was blown away by the flavor.

And the smell that permeates the house? That is just magical. It’s probably also one of the reasons why I love making my cranberry sauce. It’s the smell that makes it extra special. Now it is great if you do have a slow cooker or an instant pot to make this recipe, but you can also easily make it on the stove.

Infuse the flavors

I made this based on a recipe from the Modern Mrs Cleaver in a slow cooker. Due to the long time in the slow cooker the flavors of the spices have really infused well. It is a fairly sweet drink but hey, it’s chocolate milk after all so that is supposed to be sweet. Perfect for a cold winter’s eve or a festive Christmas drink. The amount you find below makes a good 5-6 large mugs.

Now if you don’t have a slow cooker you can use a small sauce pan to make this on the stove as well. Important is to not overheat the mixture. White chocolate can sometimes be a little difficult but if you let it melt slowly and not let it cook you should be ok.

Low and slow

It’s all about taking it slow with this white chocolate milk recipe. You want to give the spices all the time to leave their scent and flavor into the white chocolate milk, so that needs a bit of time. And even when you’re making it in a pan you still want to take the time to let it rest.

You will probably also find that the milk and cream form a skin on top. That is easily dissolved once you heat it back up and stir it through. It should melt right back into the mixture.

  1. Simone, this is breathtaking! But even more important – how I love that the slow cooker can make something so cozy and delicious! I say this is a good reason to celebrate Sinterklaas, kid or not!

    • It’s funny but I think from all the things I made in my slow cooker, I might love the sweet stuff best… Well that and pulled pork… 🙂
