If you love coffee in combination with chocolate you’re gonna fall in love with this chocolate smoothie bowl with coffee mixed in. Topped with crunchy chocolate and a sweet banana, this is one of my favorite smoothie bowls!
Chocolate smoothie bowl with coffee
My first drink of the day is usually a big cup of coffee. Well after drinking some water first that is. I just love the brown stuff. So naturally when I wanted to create a new recipe for a smoothie bowl I wondered if I could incorporate it into a breakfast. I decided to make a combination with chocolate and boy this is so good!
First of all, I am not a huge fan of coffee in my food. That might sound contradictory to my love for coffee, but in general I just don’t like the bitter flavor when combined with food. That is in general though. In this particular instance I absolutely love it. The chocolate smoothie bowl goes to a whole new level with the addition of the chocolate and look how luscious it looks!
Raw chocolate
Since I used raw cocoa powder for making the chocolate smoothie bowl it is not overly sweet. Also the addition of the coffee might need a little extra sweetness. It also depends on how ripe your banana is. That is literally the only sweet thing in the smoothie bowl. You can taste it after churning and add a little bit extra sweetener if needed. If you want to keep it vegan you can add some maple syrup or honey if you don’t care about the vegan part.
For the topping I kept it fairly simple; I added some banana (again for some added sweetness) and sprinkled on some chopped dark chocolate and coconut. You can also add cacao nibs instead of the dark chocolate if you prefer.
