Who doesn’t love a good brownie? These fudgy banana chocolate brownies are not only super easy to make—they’re also gluten-free, dairy-free, egg-free, and totally paleo-friendly. Oh, and did I mention they’re delicious?
Why You’ll Want to Make These Brownies

- Vegan & Allergy-Friendly – Free from eggs, gluten, and lactose—making them great for a variety of dietary needs (or just anyone who loves a good brownie!).
- Ridiculously Easy – One bowl, minimal prep, and no fancy tools required. You’ll have these in the oven in minutes.
- Customizable – Add nuts, swap in extra chocolate, drizzle with peanut butter—this recipe is a great base for your brownie experiments.
A Brownie Everyone Can Love
Raise your hand if you’re a brownie fan! (Unless you’re in the rare “I don’t like chocolate” camp—in which case, this might not be your moment.) For everyone else: meet your new go-to treat.
These banana chocolate brownies are rich, moist, naturally sweetened, and free from common allergens. No flour, no butter, no eggs—and still all the brownie vibes.
Chia Magic & Vegan Friendly
The secret to holding it all together? Chia seeds! Once soaked, they work like a charm as a binder, making these brownies completely egg-free. If you also use vegan chocolate, you’ve got yourself a fully plant-based dessert.
I don’t usually bake vegan, but honestly? These blew me away. More vegan baking recipes you might like are the vegan Dutch rice tart, the vegan banana bread, this gluten-free apple pie or a vegan raspberry cheesecake. (which is technically a no-bake recipe, so doesn’t really count)
Just Mix & Bake
They’re ridiculously simple to whip up. Once the chia seeds are soaked, just mix everything together (except the chocolate and pecans—those go in last), pour into a tin, and bake. That’s it.
FAQ Chocolate Banana Brownies
Yes! As long as you use dairy-free (vegan) chocolate, these brownies are completely vegan—no eggs, no butter, no milk.
You can substitute chia seeds with ground flaxseeds. Use the same quantity and soak in water just like you would with chia.
The riper, the better! Spotty or overripe bananas will add more sweetness and moisture to the brownies.
Dark chocolate (70% or higher) works best, especially for a richer flavor. Make sure it’s dairy-free if you’re keeping the recipe vegan.
